OCTOBER 2011

About

The Architecture Film Festival Rotterdam (AFFR) is a biennial festival of four days with films, debates and lectures. The program clearly shows how closely film and architecture are linked and how they inspire each other.

The AFFR was founded in 2000 including Ashok Bhalothra (architect) and Jacques van Heijningen (Rotterdam film commissioner) in the Board. The year 2000 had a small and successful preliminary test to really start off at the 2001, Rotterdam Cultural Capital with a solid program, screened at several locations in Rotterdam. The statutory objective of the Foundation Architecture Film Festival Rotterdam is “organizing a regular film festival held in Rotterdam, aimed to promote both public and professional interest in the field of architecture and urbanism”.
