The Complete Metropolis

After one year of restoration only some irrelevant meters reel of this classic are missing. February 12 there will be a special screening at the Berlin Brandenburg Gate to mark the 60th Berlin Filmfestival.. Metropolis was a 2.5 hour lasting flop in his day, which explaines the various attempts to improve its sales by different reductions up to 1 hour. That did not help, the film remained a public flop but a cinematic masterpiece. Over 80 years later, the famous German classic film is the mothership of most science fiction films. To mark the Metropolis “version Argentina 2008″the Berlin Filmmuseum has an exhibition and screenings till April 25.
